Here’s a great free back to school pattern for you. It’s only just been two weeks into the Summer holidays here in the U.K. I know many of my readers in the states are getting ready for the start of the new term. The previous back to school cross stitch patterns have been popular so here is a new pattern for the next academic year.

Cheeky book worms are more interested in jotters than apples. Now you can save all your apples for teacher. It’s free to download and comes in PDF file format. Just click on the pop out to get it and print it.

This cute little book worm and red and green apple motifs are perfect for back to school. How adorable would they look stitched onto a pencil case or for a planner cover. If you didn’t want to use them for back to school how about saving them for thank you teacher card motifs or for a graduation card?

The design is perfect for beginners as the majority of the pattern is full count stitches. A tiny bit of back-stitch is used for the apples. If you really don’t like back-stitch, leave the outlines and just add the stalks.
With many thanks to Jeni Lynn Ingram for model stitching this cute design. If you would like to work with Jeni you can contact her via the Facebook group Embroidery Model stitchers and designers. Do you want to model stitch for me? You can contact me via Facebook or twitter.
If you like my free patterns, why not stop by my Etsy store and see what else I have to offer to back to school this year.
I also have a co-ordinating back to school fabric in my Spoonflower shop.

  1. Ah they would be perfect for back to school. They are very clever – I am not sure I would be able to do anything like that so well. Thank you for joining us at #familyfun

  2. This is really cute. I have done a lot of cross stitch in my time but have swayed away from it for now. Too many big projects. Something cute like this could get me back into it! thank you for linking up to #familyfunlinky
