I love a picnic and nothing could be more British than lugging a basket of goodies into a field to sit on a blanket and scoff them in the sunshine. But what if you’re gluten free? There’s no need to feel left out I’ve rounded up some of my favourite recipes and a few supermarket treats that will give you a whole host of gluten free picnic ideas.
Savoury Gluten free Picnic
Most of the time I’m all about the sweet stuff, but in the summer I do like more of a balance. These are my favourites to include in my picnic basket.
These cheese scones are a hit with all the family.
Looking for a great alternative to holey gluten free bread? Why not try these coconut flour wraps.
Not everything in your picnic needs to be finger food. Grab some forks and get stuck into some great salad recipes.
If your are hungering for sandwiches, which to be fair no classic picnic is without. Try my fool proof gluten free bread recipe. Trust me, you’ll never buy rubbish supermarket bread again.
Something to wash the food down with? Hubby was gutted when I was diagnosed, as he thought he’d never be able to bring beer in the house again. I’m not much of a drinker but a cool drink can go down well in the summer. Fear not as the range of gluten free beers and ales is massive now. Check out this beer case as a great introduction.
With the beer you do need some crispy snacks and the Cartwright’s are big fans of this Hummus chips. Which you can pick up all over the place now.
