Day of the Dead cross stitch (free)
Over the years I have designed a fair few skull cross stitch patterns. You can find them all in my embroidery pattern library. But up until now I’d never created a Day of the Dead cross stitch design.

This 8” x 8” stitch chart would look great framed in a hoop or square frame. Over stitched to create a pennant or cushion cover.
Perfect for celebrating dias de los muertos or just to have all year round. Full of colour this festive design features, flowers, skulls, skeletons, candles and even a chilli.
You can get access to this pattern for fee at the bottom of this post. It comes as a printable PDF chart, which includes the dimensions and full floss list.
The design is made up of full count cross stitches, no fractionals, half stitch, French knots or backstitch to tackle. So although large, it’s still a perfect counted cross stitch project for beginners to enjoy.
Pattern dimensions
- Grid Size: 112W x 112H
- Design Area: 7.86″ x 7.86″ (110 x 110 stitches)
