These cute cockerel and hen design svg are already complete with a hole for hanging them from.

Just add a ribbon and you’re all set for a perfect Easter tree. You could also use them to decorate Easter baskets, personalise them with a name and use for place settings. The possibilities are endless.

Keep them plain or decorate.

I cut these bird decorations from Kraft plex, but you could also cut them from card, plywood, basswood or acrylic.

If you cut them from wood or card you could decorate them to make them even more special.

Adding names or patterns.

Here are three different ways you could decorate these rooster svgs.

Glitter

Once you’ve cut the chicken svg file using your laser cutter or Cricut machine.

Coat one side at a time with a thin layer of pva glue. Then place in a tray and sprinkle with glitter colour of your choice. I went with more spring colours and picked gold, pink and blue. But you could go with any pallet you like.

Once that side is dry, tap of the excess glitter and apply glue and glitter to the opposite side.

When they are fully dry add a ribbon or string.

Paint

I used standard water based craft pain, but you could use acrylic for a harder wearing design.

Apply a thin layer to one side and allow to dry before painting the opposite side. One fully dry you could leave it all one colour or add extra touches, with more paint or chalk markers.

Chalk markers

I used my trusty posca paint markers to create these fun, decorated egg style designs to my fowl svgs.

Depending on the base material the chalk marker will absorb differently. So I recommend you carry out a test first.

They will look great on my tree!
