- Felt sheets in green (or your favourite colours)
- Fabric scissors or a digital cutting machine
- Glitter glue (optional)
- Hot glue gun or fabric glue
- Dowel
Instructions
Step 1: Download the Pattern and Template
To get started, download my free 3D felt Christmas tree template. It’s available in both PDF format for hand-cutting and SVG format for use with a Cricut, Silhouette, or laser cutter. Step 2: Cut Out the Tree Pieces
Print the PDF template or upload the SVG file to your cutting machine software.
Cut out the felt pieces according to the template. You’ll need 4 identical pieces to create the 3D effect. You can also experiment with more pieces for a fuller tree, try 6-8 pieces.
Step 3: Assemble the Tree
Fold each tree piece in half lengthwise and run a line of glue down the centre line
Stick to the dowel.
Repeat with the remaining three pieces. Adding additional glue where the sides of each tree piece meet.
Step 4: Add Embellishments (Optional)
Decorate your tree with glitter glue tinsel or spots for baubles.
Step 5: Add to floral displays (Optional)
Perfect for the finishing touch to flowers or potted plants for a festive flair.
