Free Spring Dragon Cross Stitch Pattern *updated

As spring unfolds its petals and colours, what better way to celebrate the season of renewal than with a charming cross stitch pattern featuring a mythical creature – the dragon! This free pattern combines the majesty of dragons with the delicate beauty of blossoms, making it perfect for beginners and seasoned stitchers alike. Pattern dimensions:

  • Grid Size: 62W x 59H
  • Design Area: 4.43″ x 4.21″ (62 x 59 stitches)

Stitching Instructions:

  1. Prepare your fabric by securing it in the embroidery hoop. If desired, use a fabric marker or pencil to grid your fabric.
  2. Thread your needle with the a single stand of the centre colour of embroidery floss, doubled over to secure with the loop method.
  3. Referencing the pattern chart, begin stitching from the centre marks.
  4. Use the cross stitch method to fill in each square on the fabric, following the colors indicated on the chart.
  5. As you stitch, pay attention to keeping the bottom arms of your stiches all in the same direction, this ensures a better finish.
  6. Continue stitching until the entire design is complete.

Finishing Touches:

Once you’ve finished stitching your spring dragon masterpiece, remove the fabric from the hoop and gently press it with an iron to remove any wrinkles. Trim any excess fabric, leaving a border around the design if desired.
