An incredibly simple craft idea is to create a hanging shelf. All you’ll need is a small plank of wood, some string or rope and a nail in the wall to hang the shelf from.
This will create a very rustic look and also be perfect for displaying your favourite ornaments and knick-knacks. You could also place picture frames on these shelves – this is another opportunity to be creative and design your own picture frames!

If you love wine, then this is a great craft idea for you. Once you’ve finished a bottle of wine, instead of recycling it, you could upcycle it by turning it into a vase. All you’ll need to do is clean it out and then paint it in any design or colours you’d like.
Once it’s dry, you can place a small bunch of flowers in the bottle and display it anywhere in your home. This simple craft idea also works well with mason jars or any other empty glass bottles you may have.
Upcycled coasters:
There’s no need to buy new coasters when it’s so easy to create your own and design them however you want. A material like cork or cardboard would be great as a base, and then you can paint this material or add things like colourful fabric for decoration.
Or, if you have a large CD collection that you no longer use, you could even cover these CDs in fabric and turn them into coasters.
Colourful plant pots:
House plants are fantastic for adding colour to your home, but if you want something even brighter, then adding decoration to your plant pots could be the way to go.
One option is to use colourful fabric and wrap this around your plant pots, but another option is to use a palette knife to smear colourful clay around the surface in interesting patterns. You just need to bake the pot afterwards to harden the clay.
