How to paint an easy watercolour heart wreath

No skill required to paint this beautiful wreath that perfect for both Valentines and Christmas! Follow this simple tutorial for how to paint an easy watercolour heart wreath.

You will need:

  • Water colour paints
  • Round head watercolour brush
  • water colour paper
  • pencil
  • eraser
  • heart shape cookie cutter
  • optional – gold paint

Step by step

  1. Start by lightly drawing around the cookie cutter with pencil
  2. Mix a light green paint in your palette
  3. Using the tip of your brush press out a leaf shape either side of the pencil line, working your way around the heart shape. Don’t worry about each leaf looking perfect, it will look more realistic, if they have variation.
  4. Once your leaves are dry, mix up a dark red and then add tiny dots of red in the white spaces between the leaves.
  5. Use gold paint or a light brown to paint a line down to the heart and add two loops to make a bow.
