Custom cross stitch kit review (+giveaway)
A custom cross stitch kit is an easy way for crafters to make their own unique pieces of art. These kits come with everything you need to get started, including the pattern, fabric, and tools. You can choose from a wide variety of sizes and floss to make your own personalized design.
I was happy to be asked to review a custom cross stitch kit of my own photo.
These are the pros and cons of this kit.
Pros:
– The price is reasonable for what you get. – The kit comes with everything you need to start cross stitching, including needles, floss, a pre- printed fabric pattern, and an instruction booklet.
– The instructions are clear and easy to follow.
– There were no missing parts or pieces.
Cons:
– If you dont carefully consider your photo when uploading, you can end up with a very difficult project to complete.
How it works
To get started, head to cross-stitched.com and select their custom kits tab.
You can then select a kit. They offer a wide range of sizes from 20cm x 30cm up to 60cm x 80cm.
You also have the option to choose between cotton or silk floss and which count you prefer 11 or 14.
Depending on your combination of size, thread and count the price will vary. Prices start at £32.39 to £82.79
You then upload your image and they will create the kit. It’s worth bearing in mind the smaller the kit the less detailed the design will be. Plus it’s best to consider an image with a range of colours in and a good amount of contrast to make it easier to stitch.

Final thoughts
The kit came well packaged and I have every thing I need to complete the project. I do regret my choice of photo slightly as I have 30+ shades of brown and black to stitch. But it will be a great project to work on over the winter and I will treasure the final piece.
