How I Organise my Blogging Time

In an ideal scenario I would have all the time in the world to work on my blog. This would be a dream and I have recently seen other bloggers that have taken the leap to work on their blogs full time. At the moment I don’t make enough money from my blog to justify giving up my part time teaching job. So my current situation is that I work two and half days a week as a high school teacher. The other half of the week is my blogging time. Minus the school runs I probably get a solid 15 hours a week to run my blog. I don’t know how this compares to others. For me it often feels that I do not have enough time. So I have to be super organised. This is how I organise my blogging time.

My typical blogging time would be split like this.

9:00-10:00 am return from the school run. Check and respond to emails. Check comments and dm’s on social media and reply.

10:00-11:00 Write new blog post. Edit photos and make graphics on Canva.

11:00-12:00 Promote new blog post. Schedule twitter, facebook and linkd in posts on Social bee. Plan my Instagram via Planoly.  Mix the post and pin it via tailwind. Check which link parties are running and add it. Then share the love of other posts. 12:00 -12:30 Yoga.

12:30-1:00 Lunch and the news.

1:00 – 2:00 Re-purpose old posts. Update photos, re-share, rewrite or add click to tweet where needed. Add sign up forms for the tribe or the freebie vault.

2:00 – 3:00 Plan for the next blogging day, draft posts or take photos.

So that’s my jam packed day. I like to chunk up my blogging time in to specific areas to focus on, otherwise I’ll find I drift and never really get anything finish except scrolling through social media. (I tend to leave that till the evening). I’d love to know how you organise your time, or if you have any top tips for being more productive.

  1. I am looking forward to really making a solid plan when I am on summer vacation. I do a lot of my writing when my students go to recess. #dreamteam

  2. You know, I’ve never actually sat down and written out my “schedule” like that, and I’m in my ninth year of blogging now! I think I’ll do that soon and figure out exactly how much time it takes. I post just once a week, and with recipe development and cooking, etc, etc, I couldn’t possibly do more than one post a week! #DreamTeam

  3. Oh wow, I’m impressed by how disciplined you are with a schedule. Do you manage to pretty much stick to it? I’ve not really looked at scheduling like this, mainly because there never seems to be the time. Thanks for joining us for the #DreamTeam 🙂

  4. I wish I had more time to blog, or that I could write a post in an hour. My biggest problem is I take way too long to write. How do you get that done so quickly? What’s your secret? 🙂 #readysetlink

  5. Love the tip about chunking stuff together; otherwise I too land up doing ten things at one time and land up being least productive. Very impressed with this schedule.

I personally do it in drips and drabs but sounds like you are organised and use your time wisely X #readysetlink
