I have loved the beautiful art produced for Dia de Muertos for a long time. First coming across the festival when I was in my teens and I have been inspired by the colours and symbols time and time again in all manners of my creative work.

I particularly love the food produced and wanted to design something based around the sugar work. This is what I cam up with a set of four very festive sugar skulls. My first Dia de Muertos cross stitch pattern.

A lot of people aren't keen on skulls and their symbolism, but combined with the patterns and beautiful colours I'm not sure many could object to this pattern.
