21 fantastic blogging tips and tricks
New to blogging or a seasoned writer? There are always new things you can learn. I recently discovered a mistake I made early on in my blogs life over the sizing of some of my images. If only I had read these 21 fantastic blogging tips and tricks it would have saved my future self a lot of time and hassle. I hope you enjoy this round up of Blog tips by some of my favourite bloggers in this weeks installment of the A to z blog tools and resources.

Planning
My best tips would be to plan everything and batch tasks like writing posts, creating graphics and scheduling social media. Plan each task on a set day to ensure consistency. Misspennymoney.com
Mine is to set specific times for doing things and concentrate only on that. For example I might have an hour to write, and for that hour I’d focus solely on that, no emails, social media etc. Otherwise it’s so easy to get distracted and do a little of lots of things and get nothing finished! https://missmanypennies.com
Pay attention to SEO best practice right away. Think about image optimisation and other page speed issues, use key words (without being obvious about it) and try to help the reader with your content. Www.themummybubble.co.uk
Try and plan ahead. If you’re feeling “in the zone” write or plan a couple of blogs ahead of time so you always have something to work on when you’re not feeling as creative. Https://mightymamabear.com
Remember who you are writing for, sometimes that can get lost

Try and be specific when writing a post, you don’t want to use up loads of ideas in one go! www.mummyswaisted.co.uk
Using the microphone feature in ‘notes’ on your phone, record the main content of the blog. Then simply copy and paste it into an email and send it to yourself! It’s so much quicker than typing and it even understands my Scottish accent! www.yourmoneysorted.co.uk
Goals
My best tip would be to sporadically remind yourself why you started blogging, it is easy to get lost in the opportunities that present themselves as a blogger but to remain true to your audience it’s important to stay true to yourself and only get involved with opportunities that really meet your brief. https://www.thepennilessparent.co.uk
My best blogging tip would be to focus on quality over quantity. Don’t stress out if you go a few days (or even a few weeks!) without publishing anything new. Aim for a minimum of 300 words per post. Longer posts (500-1000 words or more) tend to be better for SEO (search engine optimisation). This is because longer blog posts tend to rank more easily in search engines. If you’ve never heard of SEO then it’s worth learning the basics. If you’re on wordpress then download the Yoast plugin and it’ll give you basic prompts to get you started.
My best blogging tip is to aim for progress not perfection. Often we are put off making a start because we want everything to be perfect which means we get nothing achieved. Make progress, not perfection. Www.mrspinch.com
Don’t compere yourself to other bloggers. It’s easy to get disheartened when you see other bloggers getting so many more views, followers and earnings than you. Blog for you and your readers. I figure that if my blog just helps one person, then I’ve done some good.

My best blogging tip is to just do your own thing. Yes take inspiration from other bloggers if you need to, but try and create original content and develop your own writing style. It’ll make you stand out! Lifeofluce.com

My top tip is to be yourself. Write from the heart about what you’re interested in and passionate about, not what is perceived to be the best money maker or the most insta-friendly. When you’re authentic, your audience will be too.

If your goal is to make money, spend 20% of your time writing blog posts and 80% of your time reaching your audience (marketing).

Networking
My tip is to find blogging groups & twitter chats for your niche and get involved, ask questions and become part of the community.

My biggest tip is interact! Use your social media to interact with other bloggers and discuss all things blogging. Taking part in discussions can help you learn new things which’ll ultimately improve your blog. I’d also recommend reading, liking & leaving genuine, thoughtful comments on others people’s blog posts. It really boosts interaction, traffic and helps build friendships!

Interact not only with other blogs but with your readers! Reply to comments on your blog posts from your audience, be active in community groups, and particularly on platforms like Instagram comment on your readers’ posts. Genuine interaction will set you apart and help build your community, and even if you have a smaller audience than other blogs, you’re going to foster a community that’s more engaged with your content. Also if you’re in Facebook community groups that are relevant to your niche, get involved with discussions – it can help build friendships with your audience and new bloggers, and helps boost your credibility 🙂

Use pinterest! Make pins for each post and get to grips with it early on. Https://midwifeandlife.com
Never stop learning
My top tip if you want to succeed is to understand that there’s always something you can improve on, and to never stop learning. When you’ve found your groove on Facebook, nail Pinterest; when you’ve done that, brush up on your seo skills.
That said, it’s also important to remember to take a break when you need it to avoid burnout, because blogging really is never done and you can always find something else to work on.
Accepting this and finding balance in spite of that knowledge is crucial for your wellbeing! (I may have found this out the hard way. 🙈)

Research everything before you start. I have spent many a wasted hour going back over articles that I have done wrongly. Things such as adding alt attributes to images and correctly marking links as nofollow/follow need to be done correctly and take up so much time to rectify. https://www.dailydealsblog.co.uk
My tip would be to learn a bit about SEO before you start. Find out how to optimise your posts and research keywords. This way you won’t have to go back to the beginning and start optimising your old posts like I did! If you’re on WordPress then Yoast is a great plugin to help you.
Also, invest in your blog. Even if it’s only a hobby, purchase your domain name and pay for hosting. Being self hosted is so much better and you have more freedom with design if you’re on WordPress. Plus, there’s all the plugins to help you! Http://www.strangenessandcharm.co.uk
