5 quick ways to beat the instagram algorithm
I know I am not alone in struggling to beat the instagram algorithm. With more and more pr companies wanting high followers and engagement on instagram. I knew it was a priority I had to develop. These are my 5 quick ways to beat the instagram algorithm I learnt from the course.

1. Have a content schedule for your posts – aim for 1-3 posts a day max. I tend to stick to one post a day and alternate selfies with lay lat food photos and scenery. For your stories no more than 15 posts in a day. Otherwise you will find people think they are too long and click on through. Optimum times mornings around breakfast, lunchtime and 11am on weekends. (think about when you check out instagram)
2. Use stories to help boost interaction. Keep your stories in keeping with your brand. Avoid cluttering your pictures and hide your hashtags behind your text or stickers. Make sure you add your best and branded stories to your highlight reel. Once you have hit 10,000 followers you can use the swipe up feature and share links with your followers. Don’t panic if you don’t have quite that many yet. There are alternatives to share links – such as dm, poll stickers, chat and igtv. Use all the tools available, mix up your posts with text posts as well as photos. Use tags, and experiment with gifs and stickers

3.If you’ve been ignoring IGTV your are missing a big trick. Aim to post to IGTV once a week. Use the highlight function to place the first minute in your grid. Make sure you optimise for silent viewing. Add text, subtitles and ensure the best content is in the first minute.
4. SEO isn’t just for your blog. Search engine optimisation is the key to getting your posts seen. Make sure you think about your key phrases, appropriate hashtags and use the alt tag in the correct manner for visually impaired viewers to understand what you are posting.
5. Cross promote. A no brainer yet many people don’t do it. If you have a big following on your blog, twitter or facebook account. Why not encourage them to check out your instagram? Just be sure to not produce exactly the same content on every platform otherwise what would be the point of them viewing you on a different one.
