Scheduling
keirancrying.com recommends scheduling.
‘It sounds obvious but I would definitely say scheduling and trying to post every day if possible. I’ve noticed that if you skip days of posting, engagement drops like flies once you post again.’
This is something I am quite good at, as I already use Social bee to help me schedule rather than using the facebook page tool.
Boosting posts
I’ve never considered boosting posts before but after the recommendations of melaniesfabfinds.co.uk
‘Boosting a post can help increase the number of views and interactions.’
Plus britonabudget.co.uk ‘I have only recently created a Facebook page after just over a year of owning a blog, which is a huge regret of mine as I wish I had created it sooner. I have found that using Facebook ads and engaging in other Facebook blogging groups has totally skyrocketed my traffic, as well as trying to post every day on Facebook.’
I will have to look into the pricing of boosting posts and give them a test run.
You can also boost the amount of traffic you get with two simple suggestions.
One from afshanesque.co.uk
‘Using hashtags on Facebook really help, especially with competitions. In regards to competitions, always get the recipient to use the #win’
I’d always thought facebook didn’t like hashtags, but I’m going to try them this week and see if it makes any difference.
Two – from dailydealsblog.co.uk
‘Never forget to share your posts on your personal account as well as your page, your friends and family are far more likely to see the post and read / share It’
I often find bloggers can be a bit reluctant to share their work with family and friend but them should be there to support you.
Find your niche

sassandclacks.co.uk recommends finding your niche.
‘I’ve grown a great following by promoting my blog through interest groups. I share it in the groups I’m active in. As part of this, make sure to like and comment posts in those groups so you’re active and give more to those groups than you take. Check the group rules too to see how to go about sharing your post.
Also, when you share blog posts in interest groups, reply to comments as much as you can. Even if you just throw a ‘thanks’ to people saying they liked the post, it all counts! It tells readers you appreciate their opinion and their readership, which goes a long way towards fostering a community around your blog. ‘
glitterrebel.com also recommends joining groups.
‘Join Facebook groups dedicated to your niche that do share/pin threads. It is important to use Facebook to grow your ‘quality’ visits, visits by people who are actually interested in your blog and content, people who might be life long fans and readers. Blogging is not a sprint, it is – more than ever – a marathon.’
allthingschristmas.com agrees
‘Make friends with other group admins and cross-promote your posts. If you can actually take part in multiple group communities (commenting and liking others content posts) it goes a long way to help your reach. Every niche has its own Facebook Groups communities, you should be a trusted, authority within those groups.’
Make it visual

eatsimply.co.uk knocks the nail on the head ‘Lovely photos really do make all the difference’
Plus ‘If you post a link with images, make sure you use 5 or more images so that if the post is shared, people click back to the original to view the additional photos and are therefore more likely to interact with your post’ arthurwears.com
‘Don’t just sell to your audience or push them to your blog. Give them pictures and words that they can engage with just on your Facebook page. I find the relatable memes get a lot of shares and likes, and I can then invite the people who don’t already follow me on the likes list’ themummybubble.co.uk
Keep it fresh by following mehimthedogandababy.com advice
‘Make sure you use different kinds of content. No one likes seeing the same thing all of the time so be sure to mix it up.’
Groups or pages?
Currently only have a page and can’t decide what niche I would have for a group, but other bloggers are finding them very useful.
‘I find my Facebook group is so much better for driving traffic to my blog than my Facebook page. Encouraging a real community feel in my group and don’t overly share all of my posts in there. I probably share 1 a week if not less but I know that because I hold back a little, people know that when I share, it’s being shared because I know they’ll be interested. I’ll add links more often though – only to relevant threads though when someone asks a question I have a post that will answer of help with.’ frugalfamily.co.uk
Like with any social media ‘Don’t forget to post regularly – if you go too long between posting to your page, Facebook will stop it being visible and you’ll have to republish it.’ missmanypennies.com
Finally don’t forget ‘Collaborate with other bloggers to promote each others blogs.’ cosmomum.co.uk
