These DIY folk art Scandi paper chains are so quick and easy to make. Have a beautiful traditional look to them and can be made with normal copier paper.

The perfect project for the whole family to make.
You will need:
- Copier paper
- Red marker (posca pen or acrylic marker work best)
- Double sided tape or a stapler
- Scissors or a paper trimmer
To make the folk art Scandi paper chains
First cut your paper lengthways into 22 inch strips. You will need roughly 12 strips per meter of chain.

Once you have cut all your strips use your red marker to decorate them with Scandi fold art inspired patterns. Go for simple repeating arches and triangle boarders, heart shapes and curling leaves. If you need some inspiration grab the free design sheet below.

Once you have decorated the strips, it’s time to make the chain. It is easier to make a whole bunch of loops to start off with and then join to loops with one strip, producing the chain.

Use a doubled sided tape roller or a stapler to join the loops together.

Then continue until you have a long enough chain.
You could also experiment with a navy marker on white paper as well for an alternative folk art look, but it’s best to stick to a two colour scheme for the traditional look.
