The Beach Gnome Pattern
This counted cross stitch pattern features a gonk chilling on the beach, complete with sun shade and bucket and spade. The design is simple, making it an easy project even for beginners. The pattern is available as a printable PDF chart at the bottom of this post, which you can download and start stitching right away.
How to Stitch the Pattern
Stitching this pattern is straightforward. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
- Download the Pattern: First, download the printable PDF chart of the beach gnome pattern. The chart will guide you on where to make your stitches on the fabric.
- Prepare Your Materials: You’ll need DMC embroidery floss in the colours indicated in the pattern, a piece of 14 count fabric, and a size 24 needle.
- Start Stitching: Start at the centre of your fabric. Follow the chart and make your stitches. Each symbol on the chart corresponds to a specific colour of floss.
- Finish Up: Once you’ve completed all the stitches, you can finish your work by framing it or turning it into a decorative item like a pillow or a bag. Check out my 35 Alternatives to framing cross stitch

Don’t know how I got on to your craftwithcartwright.co.uk sight but I love what you have. Am on vacation now but when I return home I intend on starting one of your patterns…only problem is which one do I choose🥴 other than cross stitching I also quilt and knit. Right now I am knitting a blanket for my granddaughters’ graduation. Oopsie, she just graduated in May so it is going to be a little late. Don’t want to turn you off with my lengthy email but “THANK YOU” so much for making some of your patterns free!
