Materials Needed:
Before you dive into the crafting process, gather the following materials:

- Square Perler bead pegboard
- Ironing paper
- Iron
- Tweezers (optional, but helpful for precise placement)
Creating Your Robin Perler Bead Pattern:
Follow these simple steps to create your robin Perler bead masterpiece, making it a fun and engaging activity for the kids:

- Choose Your Colour Palette:
I’ve suggested traditional colours but you can let the kids pick vibrant colours for the robin’s feathers, beak, and eyes. This is their chance to get creative with their choices! - Set Up Your Pegboard:
Copy the pdf chart to transfer the design onto your square pegboard - Ironing Prep:
Once their pattern is set, help them cover it with ironing paper, making sure to leave a little extra paper around the edges. - Ironing Technique:
With your guidance, let the kids use the iron set to a medium heat and gently move it in a circular motion over the ironing paper-covered beads. Emphasise the importance of not applying too much pressure. - Cooling and Removal:
While the Perler bead creation cools for a few minutes, share the excitement with the kids about the upcoming reveal. Once cooled, help them carefully remove it from the pegboard, ensuring no accidental breakage. - Finishing Touches:
Add a hanging ribbon to turn it into a ornament or a magnet to decorate your fridge.

- Let the kids experiment with different shades to add depth and character to their robin.
- Supervise them through the ironing process, ensuring a careful and even application for a sturdy finished product.
- Get creative with backgrounds or additional elements to enhance their Perler bead creation.
- You don’t have to use perler beads – alternatives such as Hama beads, fuse beads and melty beads will all work too!
