Free Buck the patriarchy SVG
I’m heading out for festival season and one of the themes is the wild west. I’ve been having a love affair with graphic tees and wanted to make something in keeping with the theme. So I created this Buck the Patriarchy SVG. Intended to be cut from HTV but could also be used to make stencils, cut vinyl and make a sign or even just printed off for some cool wall art. Download the free cut file at the bottom of this post.

Using the SVG with Your Cricut
Now, let’s put that Cricut to work! Here’s how to use the “Buck the Patriarchy” SVG:
- Open Cricut Design Space: Launch your Cricut Design Space software.
- Create a New Project: Click “New Project” to start a fresh canvas.
- Upload the SVG: Click “Upload” and select the SVG file you downloaded. Follow the prompts to import it into your project.
- Resize and Position: Adjust the size of your design to fit your project.
- Choose Your Material: If you’re making a t-shirt, select the appropriate heat transfer vinyl (HTV). Remember, to mirror the design before cutting.
- Cut It Out: Load your material onto the cutting mat, select the appropriate settings (vinyl, iron-on, etc.), and let your Cricut work its magic. Watch as it precisely cuts out the cowgirl and bull design.
- Weed the Excess Vinyl: Use a weeding tool to remove the excess vinyl around the design.
- Heat Transfer Time: Preheat your t-shirt or fabric. Place the weeded design face down, cover it with a butchers paper, and apply heat using an iron or a heat press. Peel off the carrier sheet, and your feminist masterpiece is ready.
