I love doing a wide range of crafts and one that I haven’t done in a while is printing. So I was really pleased when asked to review Hannah Turlington Designs Apron printing kit.
Hannah is an experienced printmaker, designer and teacher and this kit brings the workshop experience to your home.

Step by step guide to printing the apron
DIY Apron printing kit
Materials
- Apron printing kit from www.hannahturlingtondesigns.com
Instructions
- Unpack the kit
- Read the instructions
- Sketch your design
- Go for a geometric design for easy repeats
- Trace the design onto the lino
- Cut out the design with the lino cutters
- Be careful they are sharp
- Remember to cut away the bits you don't want to print
- Do a test print
- Lay out the apron for printing
- Lay out the lino print in a half drop repeat, press firmly
- Continue until completely covered
- Leave to dry
- Then press with a hot iron and greaseproof paper to fix
- Finally show off your apron whilst you cook.

Final thoughts
I really enjoyed spending my weekend afternoon designing and printing my apron. I went with a snowflake design, so I can wear it for my Christmas food lessons at school. Everything you needed was included in the kit and the instructions were clear and helpful.
I also had the opportunity to access the online help if I git really stuck.
Apart from one slip and a cut finger making the apron was a joy and I’m very proud of my work.
This would be the perfect gift for someone who would love to go to a workshop yet can’t get access at the current time. Compared to the price of attending a workshop I think the kit is priced fairly.
