What is a dream catcher?

A dream catcher comes from Indian tribes as a was to ward off bad dreams. Inside the box included with the instructions is the story of their origin. My eldest particularly enjoyed reading about it’s meaning and it’s creation.

How we got on

The kit age recommendation is for 6+ and boy my boys could make them relatively independently. (Ages 7 and 12). However they and I struggled with the instructions for creating the looped ‘web’ in the middle of the dream catcher.

So the eldest did a wheel design and the youngest went freestyle. I think the both worked well and still look like webs.

Final thoughts

The boys were not put off my the pastel designs and have both made them as gifts for their grandmother. They liked the fact they could create it any way they wanted and I think they have turned out beautifully.

If they are over 6 they should be able to make it with perhaps just a little help threading the needle or using the double sided pads.

Good value at £24.99 for two. It kept them occupied for the afternoon and the finished items are a good quality to gift to other people.
