Bedroom makeover with Victory Colours
When Victory colours asked us if we like to try out their Eco paint, it was just the push we needed to get decorating. Read on to see how bedroom makeover with Victory Colours turned out.

How it started
Our house is a converted three hundred year old Queen Anne stable in beautiful Herefordshire. Our bedroom used to be the hayloft with the horses underneath.
We have been in our new home just over 18 month. We have done very little to the house since we arrived. Our bedroom has probably been the least touched, with even the old owners curtains hanging in place.

The walls were a beige brown with stained patches. Where they had previously had a leak and the wood work was yellowed and in rubbish condition.

Our makeover plan
We knew this room could be glorious, with dual aspect and a large window facing directly south. Its lovely and light.
We had already purchased the bed from Dreams. A king size ottoman bed in Navy velvet. So we wanted a colour that would compliment the bed and give a softness to the rest of the room.

We went with Malva No. 45 in 5 litres £64.95. Enough for two coats. We could have got away which just one coat as it covered really well. Apart from where they had treated the wall for the leak. Two coats and you could never know there had been any patches there in the first place.

It’s a lovely soft pink that changes with the light of the day and gives a romantic glow to the room.
Victory colours paint is:
- Cruelty-free & Vegan
- Water-based paint
- Solvent-free
- covered really well
- Didn’t have a strong smell
- Highly durable, with excellent washability. (Hopefully we will never have to be washing the walls now out kids are older, but you never know!)
For the celling we chose Victory white No.2 2.5 litres £41.95. Which was a soft white which complimented the pink walls perfectly. This was enough for two coats.
The woodwork was finished off with Victory white No.2 1 litre of eggshell £31.95. This was enough to do two coats on all of the skirting, two large windows and two doors.

We were really pleased with the quality of the paint, it covered beautifully. It had such low odour that we could sleep the the room the night of painting, and came in such a beautiful colour.
Victory colours have such a lovely collection of colours to choose from we would definitely buy the paint to do our next makeover project in the house from them.
Finishing touches
To add our bedroom makeover, we took advantage of the space we have and added a little reading space. With two green velvet chairs and a side table. The perfect place to sit, read, drink tea and enjoy the sunshine on a weekend morning.

Finally to complete the look. We replaced the cast off curtains with velvet look midnight blue curtains to match the bed.

When we have the budget and find the perfect ones to complete our bedroom makeover. We will swap the chest of drawers and add a large picture mirror above it to reflect the garden. Plus replace the carpet as it’s moth eaten because its a wool one!
