Create Unique Mother’s Day Gifts With DIY Crafts

DIY Mother’s Day crafts come straight from the heart. Store-bought gifts don’t have the same feel to them. If you’re looking to design Mother’s Day gifts, here are five ideas to make her day extra special this year.

Plant Markers

If your mom loves to garden, plant markers would be the right gift for her. Plant markers are functional and easy to make. You’ll need a precision knife, rubber stamps, rolling pins, a clay cutter, a cutting mat, and some clay.

The first step is to take a piece of clay and work it with your hands until it becomes pliable. Then use the rolling pin to roll it to the desired shape and clean the edges with the clay cutter. Next, use the knife to create a tip of the marker and press rubber stamps on the finished piece to add the name of the plants.

Once done, you can bake the clay markers according to the instructions provided on the packaging and cool them so they are ready to be used.

Scented Mason Jar Candle

Another DIY gift that is perfect for Mother’s Day is a scented candle. You’ll need a fragrance oil, wick holders, candle wicks, a candle-making pitcher, soy wax flakes, pint-sized mason jars, wax colorant, and a stove to make this gift.

Take a candle wick and place it in the mason jar with the help of some hot glue. Use a wick holder to ensure the wick remains positioned in the center.

Put the pitcher on the stove, and melt some wax flakes with the colorant. Next, add the fragrance oil of your choice and stir. Once it’s ready, pour the wax into the mason jar and allow it to sit until it is cooled. You can also decorate the mason jar to make it more appealing.

Pressed Flower Frames

Framed flowers are a unique gift idea for Mother’s Day. Get two glass frames, some paper towels or cotton fabric, hot glue, two fire bricks, and flowers of your choice. First, lay a piece of fabric on the fire brick, and place the flowers on top. Now take the other piece of fabric and put it on top of the flowers and then the other fire brick on top of that.

Now microwave this fire brick sandwich for a minute or two to help the flowers press. Once the flowers are pressed, you can place them into the frame and hot glue the edges of both frames together. Keep some weight on the frames until the glue dries so the frames firmly stick together.

Gradient Flower Vases

Flower vases are always an elegant choice for Mother’s Day gifts. You can make your gradient flower vases with only two things – a glass vase and a few different colors of spray paint. All you have to do is turn the vase upside down and begin spray painting rings with each color. Next, spray paint the rings so that each color overlaps the other. Allow the paint to dry, and place some flowers in it to create the perfect DIY gift
