DIY July wall hanging (+ free template)
Time to welcome a new month and what better way than with a fun July wall hanging. This DIY project is quick and easy and can be customised to suit. Make sure to grab the free template at the bottom of the post.
How to make the July wall hanging
You will need:
- Cotton Banner
- Variegated embroidery floss
- HTV in a colour of your choice
- Heat erasable pen
- Hand sewing needle
- Scissors
- Weeding tools
- Heat press or iron
- July template
- Download the free July template and free giraffe SVG.
- Print out the July template
- Upload the SVG to your machine software, size it you fit your banner.
- Mirror the design and cut from HTV
- Weed the giraffe and press onto your banner. Follow the HTV manufacturers instructions of timings and if it is a warm or cool peel.
- Transfer the July design onto the banner with heat erasable pen. To make this easier, hold it up against a window or use a light box.
- Using backstitch and the variegated floss, stitch around the transferred design.
- Secure with a knot at the end and trim any loose threads.
- Then you are ready to hang.
