Halloween crafts for 10 year olds
Every year I have to find things to entertain the kids through October half term when the weather is awful. The youngest is easy to keep occupied but as the eldest has got older it’s got harder to find things he’ll enjoy making. Not this year with my great round up of Halloween crafts for 10 year olds.
Paper Crafts
I love paper crafts as I almost always have all the supplies we’d need already in the house. We’ve not tried quilling before and I can’t wait to show the kids this fun Halloween Craft Quilled Spider Project For Kids by the www.theinspirationedit.com
We have made sun catchers before, but never Halloween themed ones. I know both the boys will love these Halloween Pumpkin Window Pictures idea by The Bear & The Fox
Or how about taking the suncatcher idea one step further and making a Halloween Tree like daisiesandpie.co.uk
Masks are fun to make at any age and when you can completely design and make your own it’s all the better. We made these spooky themed face masks one rainy afternoon, using supplies kindly sent to us by Viking. To make our masks you will need: A template, red and black card, scissors, metallic pens, felt tips, glue, glitter and some elastic to secure the masks.
Use the template to draw around on the card. You can adjust it to create different spooky outlines. Then decorate with your design. We went for a devil, a spiders web and a glitter monster!
Finally use a pin to make holes on either side of the mask and string the elastic through.
Pumpkin crafts
You can’t escape the pumpkin in October, so how about some pumpkin inspired crafts?

Painting crafts
We love to paint in the cartwright house and aren’t afraid of a little mess. I know my eldest would love to paint a eyball rock so we’ll be looking at the-gingerbread-house.co.uk for more great Halloween painted rock ideas.
Finally I just had to include this tutorial on How to make a Halloween Leaf Wreath by Incredibusy. Not only will the kids love making the little conker faces for it. I love any excuse to hang a wreath on my door!

Halloween is not really celebrated in my Scottish town but I grew up in Ireland so I put up Halloween decorations for my son. We get a few trick or treaters and I enjoy how excited they get when I give them a few sweets!
