10 Amazing Apple recipes (Gluten Free)

It’ll soon be summer and apple season will be not far away. This year I expect my one apple tree to do exceptionally well as we have a poor harvest last year. I’m hoping it will, as I can already see the start of  an abundant blossom this year. Over the years we’ve had bucketfuls of apples and aside from taking them in my lunch box. I’ve always been busy baking and cooking with them. Want some fab recipes to get you in the fruity mood? These 10 amazing apple recipes will do just that.

Muffins

We love a muffin in the Cartwright house and I was surprised to see only two of my muffin recipes had apple in.

Both these Apple Cinnamon muffins and these Gluten free Apple and Walnut muffins will fill you up and give a warm snugly feeling in your soul.

Apple Traybake recipes

Traybakes are my go to when feeding a crowd and I often am.

This Gluten Free Coconut and Apple Traybake Recipe is amazing and well worth a try if you’ve never baked with coconut flour before.

Desserts

Sundays are for puds right? We love a crumble, either with cream, ice cream or custard. I’ve made use of the damsons from our garden too with this Damson and apple crumble recipe.

Savoury apple recipes

My Halloumi, apple and pear salad was the only savoury recipe I could find.So I’ve decided to make this my challenge this week to get apples into more of the main meals as well as the snacks. I’ll let you know if I make something fabulous.

    Mine is fireworks apples, where you take the core out, pour sugar and raisins in to the middle, wrap in foil then put in the oven, they are really sweet but soooo yummy!

I made a Dorset Apple cake for the first time the other night and it was delicious, I was so pleased with the way it turned out as I only had plain flour so had to add baking soda to make self raising. It rose beautifully and the sponge turned out really light, it didn’t last very long as it was morish and melted in the mouth. I’d say this is definitely my favourite apple recipe
