5 Quick Tips for a Cozy Home This Autumn

The nights are drawing in and there’s the beginnings of a chill in the air. There are plenty of things that you can do to make your cosy home this Autumn. These tips could be used for both the indoors and outdoors.

1) Light a fire

I love to make sure that the inside of my home is warm and inviting. Previously I would do this by lighting candles, but now I’ve moved I have the extra special treat of not one but two wood burning stoves.

Having the joy of staring at the cosy glow of a fire in the hearth is so cosy.

To easily get my fire started we were lucky enough to try out a bundle of products from White Horse Energy.

What we tried:

  • Ecoblaze Kiln-Dried boxed firewood
  • Ecoblaze 200 Boxed firelighters
  • Ecoblaze Box of kindling
  • Ecoblaze RUF Briquettes
  • Ecoblaze Pini-Kay Briquettes

I will admit now, I have never lit a fire so easily before. The natural firelighters and kindling went up so easily, we soon had a roaring fire. The kiln dried logs and Pini-Kay Briquettes burned really well and lasted ages.

It’s the perfect way to take the chill off the room and now I know it’s so easy to get going, I will be tempted to light it every night.

You’ve got to admit, it looks inviting!

2) Decorate for Autumn

Put up “Autumn” decorations around your house like pumpkins, leaves, flowers, etc.

There are plenty of decorations you can buy in the shops. However I love to take the boys for walks to collect things to decorate.

We normally can find, plenty of cockers (which are supposed to keep spiders away), pinecones and beautiful leaves. Place them in jars and press the leaves to preserve them.

3) Warming recipes

Try cooking some Autumn-related foods like warming soups or pumpkin pie and apple pie!

4) The scent of Autumn

If your lucky enough to have a fire, then I love the smell of that. Also, pine isn’t just a scent for Christmas, it makes the house smell amazing. Plus cinnamon and nutmeg are wonderful to hang around the house.

5) snuggle bundle

Finally, get yourself a pile of blankets folded next to the sofa for late night snuggles. Plus don’t forget some fuzzy socks or slippers! Then you’ll soon have a cosy home of Autumn.
