Cooksongold jewellery making kit review
You may not know this but when I did my textile degree in Birmingham. We had he chance to do an additional course at the Jewellery quarter. I loved the chance to work with metals and create a few pieces. But since then I haven’t found the time to try jewellery making again. Until now! Cooksongold sent me the Swirly Hearts and Pearls Necklace and Earring jewellery making kit to try out and review. I was very excited.

Contents of the Kit
The Jewellery Making Kit arrived in an letterbox sized packaged and when opening it I could see it was packed by Oliver. Cooksongold are working with Argent College with this kit.

Inside you get all the materials you need to make the necklace and earrings.
Including:
- Sterling silver wire
- Sterling silver chain
- Freshwater pearls
- Sterling silver earring hook wires
- Copper wire
You also get a full instruction booklet with really clear photos and a link to watch a YouTube tutorial as well.
Quality of Materials
One of the standout features of the Cooksongold kit is the quality of its materials. The freshwater peals and silver findings were beautiful and I really could capture how pretty they are in real life in my photos.

Tools and Equipment
The kit does not provide the tools and equipment needed for making the necklace and earrings. So it’s worth noting that you would already need these or have to purchase them in addition to the kit. Making this a kit that I would recommend to people who already have an interest in jewellery making and not complete novices.
Usability for Beginners
For those venturing into the world of jewellery making for the first time, the Cooksongold kit offers a gentle introduction. The instructional guide is through in taking you through the jewellery assembly, providing step-by-step instructions and helpful tips. The inclusion of a a video link is also a great help.
Value for Money
The Cooksongold Jewellery Making Kit is priced at £16.99 and considering the quality of materials provided, it offers great value for money.
How I got on
I was pleased that the kit included copper wire for you to practice shaping with the pliers. This was probably the part I found trickiest and felt like to could have done with having an extra pair of hands. Wrapping the wire at the base of each pearl was super fiddly and a little frustrating.

I don’t think my hammering was as effective and they have come out a little different looking to the photos on the guide, but I am pleased with my final result.
It was an enjoyable couple of hours making something I would normally create, plus whenever anyone compliments me on my jewellery I can now tell them I made it myself!!

Silver Swirly Hearts And Pearls Jewellery Set Project stood out as a high-quality kit for anyone interested in exploring the art of jewellery making. From the carefully chosen materials to the user-friendly instructional guide, the kit provides a solid foundation for creativity to flourish.
