5 ideas for crafting with “Death Comes for Tea”

This SVG is incredibly versatile and can be used in a wide range of crafts. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

1. Custom T-Shirts

One of the simplest yet most impactful ways to use this design is by creating a custom t-shirt. The “Death Comes for Tea” SVG works particularly well on dark-coloured fabrics, where the contrast can really make the design pop. Using heat transfer vinyl, I can easily transfer the vector image onto a t-shirt.

2. Home Décor

Another great use for this SVG is in home décor. For example, I like to create framed art with my Cricut. By cutting the design out of black vinyl and placing it on a white or pastel background, I can create a striking piece of wall art.

3. Mugs and Drinkware

Why not extend the theme and create a custom mug? You could try engraving the “Death Comes for Tea” design on a Stanley cup using a laser. Or try it with permanent vinyl on a tea tray.

4. Greeting Cards

Crafting greeting cards is another fantastic way to use this SVG. You could cut the design from cardstock and use it as the centrepiece of a card. Bear in mind that you would lose some of the finer details when cutting smaller and from card. The design works especially well for those who would die for a good cup of tea.

5. Custom Tote Bags

Tote bags are another excellent canvas. By applying the design to a plain tote bag using heat transfer vinyl, I can create a one-of-a-kind accessory. It’s a practical project too, perfect for trips to the library or the shops.

Tips for Using SVG Files

If you’re new to using SVG files with your digital cutting machine, here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your “Death Comes for Tea” download:

  • Ensure Your Software Is Compatible: Before you begin, make sure your cutting machine’s software can handle SVG files. Most machines like Cricut and Silhouette are compatible, but it’s always good to double-check.
  • Choose the Right Material: Depending on what you’re making, the material you cut the SVG from will vary. For example, heat transfer vinyl is perfect for fabric, while adhesive vinyl is better for mugs and drinkware.
  • Test Cuts Are Important: If you’re unsure about how your machine will handle the design, do a test cut on scrap material. This helps avoid any mistakes when working with your final piece.
  • Adjust the Size as Needed: The beauty of SVG files is that they’re scalable without losing quality. You can easily adjust the size of the “Death Comes for Tea” design to fit your specific project.
