DIY hand stitched bunny card (2 ways!)

Easter is around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than with a DIY hand-stitched bunny card? This fun and easy craft is perfect for card makers and those looking to get crafting with the kids. I’ll guide you through two alternative methods: using a printable PDF template or an SVG cut file for a Cricut machine.

Method 1: Printable PDF Template

  1. download the Template
  2. Prepare the Card: Print the template and place on top of your card. This is sized to fit an a5 card.
  3. Poke Holes: Use a sharp tool (like a tapestry needle or a bradawl) to poke holes along the lines of the bunny design.
  4. Thread Your Needle: Choose a thread colour that suits your design and thread your needle.
  5. Start Stitching: Start from the back and use tape to secure the end rather than a bulky know. Then use a running stitch to follow the pattern. If you’re new to running stitch, it’s simple: push your needle up through the first hole and then down through the next, repeating this process along the entire pattern.

Method 2: SVG Cut File for Cricut (or other cutting machine)

  1. Download the SVG Cut File
  2. Upload to Cricut Machine: Upload the file to your Cricut machine and set it to cut out the holes for the bunny design. No need to resize as it’s set to fit an A5 card
  3. Prepare Your Card: Once the Cricut machine has cut out the design, remove the card carefully.
  4. Thread Your Needle: Choose a thread color that complements your card and thread your needle.
  5. Start Stitching: Secure the thread at the back with tape. Use a running stitch to sew along the bunny design.

Whether you choose to use the printable PDF template or the SVG cut file, this DIY hand-stitched bunny card is sure to bring joy this Easter. It’s a fun and engaging activity for both adults and children. Improving hand eye co-ordination and helping mindfulness.
