Button Oatmeal Biscuits recipe (gluten free)

I love biscuits and so do the kids. However sometimes I can have trouble tempting him with a plain style biscuit. Yes the chocolate ones can seem more appealing but these are tasty biscuits. These button oatmeal biscuits are healthy, gluten free, crunchy, crispy, homemade perfection.

 It’s easy to do and requires no special equipment to achieve it. A set of biscuit cutters and a drinking straw and you are good to go.

You will need:

Equipment

Food processor

Scales

Measuring jug
wooden spoon
rolling pin
cutter

drinking straw
baking tray
Oven gloves
 

Method

Heat the oven to 180c, 350f, gas mark 4

Place all the dry ingredients in a food processor and mix until it looks like fine breadcrumbs.

Then slowly add the milk, pulse until the mixture forms a dough.

Roll out thinly and cut out 7.5” rounds.

Use a 3” cutter to mark a middle ring.

Then use a drinking straw to cut out the button holes

Place on the baking trays and bake for around 15 minutes.

Oatmeal Button biscuits

  • 150 g Gluten freeself raising flour
  • 150 g Gluten free oatmeal
  • 75 g caster sugar
  • 75 g margarine
  • Milk to mix.
  1. Heat the oven to 180c, 350F gas mark 4.

  3. Then slowly adding milk, pulse until the mixture forms a dough.
  4. Roll out thinly and cut out 7.5” rounds.
  5. Use the 3” cutter to mark a middle ring.
  6. Then use the drinking straw to cut out the button holes.
  7. Place on the baking trays and bake for around 15 minutes.

You will also need two greased baking trays, two circle cutters 7.5” and 3” and a drinking straw.
