Now the boys are back at school I have missed spending time with them on creative projects. So after snacks and chats, I’ve been making an effort to spend some time with them on little projects. So we were pleased to be sent a Butterflies & Bees suncatcher kit from Annabel James for review. Read our honest thoughts.

What’s inside

The whole kit comes in a beautiful tin, making it an ideal gift to post.

Inside is:

• 8 wooden shapes of British butterflies and bees.
• Pre-cut transparent paper to match the wooden shapes
• 8 window hangers
• Pens,
• Glue,
• Instructions for how to make the suncatchers
• Butterfly and Bee guide

Recommended age range

Not for children under the age of three and there are small parts.

My youngest is eight and it was ideal for us to make together

Value for money

The kit is priced at £11.95, which I thought was good value for money. It’s packed beautifully and would be a lovely gift to receive in the post.

You can make 8 suncatchers with the kit, plus you can reuse the wooden off cuts where the shapes are pushed out as stencils for more bug related artwork.

Final thoughts

The perfect craft to make on a rainy afternoon and be delighted with your window when the sun comes out. My youngest really enjoyed making them and we both decided they would make lovely gifts to give as well.
