Paraffle embroidery review (+ giveaway!)

If you are a regular reader of my blog, then you will know I love embroidery. In all it’s shapes and forms, from free hand machine embroidery, to intricate hand stitches and cross stitch designs. Which is why I was delighted to get the opportunity to review one of stunning designs from Paraffle embroidery. Plus there is a chance to win you own kit at the bottom of the post!

Who are Paraffle embroidery

Founded by Sammy Bishop in 2016, Paraffle is a old scots word for embroidery. They produce beautiful embroidery kits for all levels of expertise. Plus you can buy all the accessories, patterns and supplies you’ll need from their website to keep you stitching.

What’s inside the kit?

This Blue Whale hand embroidery kit is perfect for people with a love of the ocean and everything nautical.
Great for both beginners and more skilled crafters, this design includes ten types of basic stitch – which means it’s perfect for learning the techniques of embroidery. The kit contains everything you need to get started, along with comprehensive instructions for each stage of the project. Plus, the wooden display hoop included is ready to hang once you’ve created your own seaside themed piece of embroidery art!

Expertise level?

This kit is aimed at those that are at the beginner stage of embroidery, a great way to learn a large variety of embroidery stitches. Experienced stitchers would also enjoy this kit, as the design is so beautiful!

Value for money

The whale kit I tried out costs £21.50, which I think is great value for money. Not only do you get all the equipment you’ll need to make the kit, plus a display hoop to proudly show off your work. You also get access to the stunning design, and extremely helpful guide to enable you to produce it.

I would thoroughly recommend this as a great gift for anyone who’s keen to join the crafting community and get stitching!

Final thoughts

I’ve loved sewing the whale, despite it taking me much longer than I’d like due to a back injury. Embroidery is such a relaxing hobby and I’ve even been able to sew this one handed, thanks to the use of a stand. Paraffle embroidery are the perfect one stop shop for contemporary embroidery designs and everything you need to create them.
