Five Great Home Improvement Investments

These are my five top Home Improvement Investments that turn a house into a home.

We have been in our house just over five years and we’ve come to the point where we need to decide to stay or make some bigger investments in our house. Having done the basics like painting and decorating.

We even knocked the wall down between the kitchen and dining room. But these things are relativity cheap on the scale of things. When spending money on your house it’s worth looking at what will give the most return.

Conservatory

It would be great to add extra space to our house and they can add more value to your home than your initial investment. It’s worth checking out what other house have done in your street and their sale prices. I love the cool contemporary look of this one, with the grey frames and the sliding doors.

Garden

A great outdoor space it well worth the investment. Add a seating area and some lawn making it perfect for families. The money you spend on your garden can vary massively depending on how much of the hard graft you are prepared to put in.

I have parents who love to garden, so with a few good cuttings and a bit of help with the digging. I’m sure we could transform our garden at a fraction of the cost. Plus if you stay in your house for long enough, it will develop into a mature garden.

Exterior

The outside of our house is probably the place we could get the best return on an investment. At the moment we have outdated fake leaded windows and ugly brown frames to the doors and windows. Which are in desperate need of replacement. If like me, you are also looking to replace your front door, you may want to to take a look through the Free Rock Door brochure. They are secure, weather proof, low maintenance and hard wearing.

I’d also love to make the house more a part of the garden so we are thinking of getting a bifold door quote to make that change to the back of our house. I love the whole outside /inside open space cross over. It makes it so much more accessible when entertaining in the summer. Suddenly the house would gain another room!

Kitchen

The heart of the home and if done to a great high standard can be the tipping point on selling your house when you want to move.

Carpets

Everyone loves a bit of luxury and carpets can be a big expense for a new home owner. Invest in great quality wool carpets and keep them cared for.
