15 ways to use your aida scraps
I try to be as zero waste as possible when I craft. Not only is it better for the environment, but it saves me money and challenges me to think more creatively about I how I use my left over materials. One material I do generate a lot of scraps of is aida. Especially when trimming down projects to finish them after them come out of the hoop. These are 15 ways to use your aida scraps.

Tiny motifs for cards or tags: Seasonal icons, initials, or emojis stitched on 1–2 inch scraps.

Needle minders: Backed with felt and a magnet, stitched with a small design.
Mini hoop ornaments: Use 1–2 inch hoops for Christmas or celebration decor.
Cross stitch bookmarks: Long narrow scraps stitched and backed with felt or fabric.

Pin badges: Stitch and mount onto badge blanks.

Keyrings: Stitch small designs and insert into acrylic keyring blanks.

Label tags: Stitch your logo or initials and sew into handmade items.
Fabric collage art: Use scraps as texture in mixed media or embroidery collages.
Stuffing material: Shred unusable bits to stuff pincushions or ornaments.
Patchwork samplers: Combine scraps into a larger sampler piece.
Needle parking pads: Glue a scrap to a card or hoop edge to hold needles temporarily.
Thread test swatches: Use scraps to test colour combos or specialty threads.

Tiny bunting flags: Cut triangles and stitch one letter per scrap to spell out a name or phrase.
Layered ATCs (Artist Trading Cards): Use Aida as a base or texture layer for mixed media cards.
